Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark has hailed Jamie Miley as "an outstanding footballer".
The young midfielder, who has scored five goals in 62 appearances since signing for Pools in January 2025, impressed during the first half of Saturday's hard-fought 1-0 pre-season win over League Two Fleetwood Town and is expected to play an integral role in Clark's side next term.
With Clark seemingly keen on fielding an attack-minded 4-4-2 formation when Pools begin their new National League campaign with the visit of relegated Barrow on Saturday, Miley will have plenty of ground to cover alongside either Nathan Sheron or Jack Hunter, who The Monkey's Uncle understands is set to be named as the new club captain, in the engine room.
