Fleetwood Town manager Matt Lawlor is feeling "positive" ahead of his side's trip to Hartlepool United on Saturday.

Like Pools, the Fishermen are set to conclude their pre-season preparations over the weekend ahead of next Saturday's first competitive game of the new campaign.

While Pools are gearing up for their National League season opener against Barrow, Fleetwood host Chesterfield in the first round of the EFL Cup before kicking off their League Two campaign with a trip to the Spirites on August 15.

Lawlor was appointed Fleetwood manager on a permanent basis in March following a successful spell in interim charge having replaced Pete Wild after his departure in January.
