Hartlepool United round off positive pre-season campaign with impressive win over League Two Fleetwood Town

Pools ended a positive warm-up campaign on a high note thanks to a purposeful performance against a Fleetwood side who finished 15th in the division above them last term.

While there wasn't an absolute abundance of quality on show at Victoria Park, Pools had the better of things for the most part and snatched a late winner thanks to an excellent finish from Corey McKeown, who made a real impact having been introduced from the bench at half time.

Pools were without the stricken Luke Charman, who faces a scan on an injury sustained against Grimsby Town last week, as well as Jack Nolan, who missed the game as a precaution, but still managed to name a strong starting XI that included the likes of Will Harris, Chris Popov, Jamie Miley and Brooklyn Ilunga.
